THIS IS NOT JUST EVENT VOLUNTEERING
Yes, we host outreach events like:
Back-to-school shoe outreach for families
Thanksgiving boxes during seasons of need
Community meals and service opportunities
But those moments are only part of the mission.
Much of our work happens quietly:
On the streets
In moments of addiction and mental health crisis
In prayer conversations
In jail and prison ministry
In one-on-one encounters where people are searching for hope
If you feel called to step into messy, real, uncomfortable spaces and bring Jesus with you — you may be a great fit here.
Why Volunteer with BDMC
At Beaver Dam Mission Center, we don’t exist to run programs — we exist to respond to people in crisis with the love and truth of Jesus Christ.
We serve individuals facing homelessness, addiction, incarceration, hopelessness, and deep personal brokenness. Many of the people we encounter carry heavy stories, criminal histories, trauma, or spiritual wounds. These moments require more than helping hands — they require grounded, prayerful, Jesus-centered hearts.
We serve because Jesus served.
We show up because Jesus showed up.
’Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Jesus said in Matthew 25:40
BDMC volunteers are not spectators or event staff — they are part of a crisis response and gospel presence in our community.
All volunteers are asked to sign our Volunteer Statement of Understanding Document. <—- READ HERE
Who can volunteer?
You do not need to be a professional, counselor, or expert.
But we are seeking volunteers who are:
Deeply rooted in Jesus Christ
Willing to pray with and for people
Comfortable sharing the hope of the gospel
Humble, teachable, and led by the Holy Spirit
Able to remain calm and compassionate in crisis situations
You may have been walking with Jesus for one week or forty years — maturity isn’t measured by time, but by surrender.
We believe God works powerfully through those who love Him, fear Him, and are willing to be used!
Because of the nature of our ministry:
You may encounter individuals with criminal backgrounds
You may serve alongside people in active addiction or recovery
You may be present during emotionally heavy conversations
Training and guidance are provided, but spiritual readiness matters.
All volunteers are required to read and sign our Volunteer Statement of Understanding before serving.
A Community of Impact
Volunteering with BDMC isn’t about checking a box — it’s about obedience.
Every prayer offered, every Bible shared, every conversation held in love matters for eternity.
If you feel the Holy Spirit stirring something in you, we’d love to walk this road together — in Jesus’ name.
