“Im only human, I bleed when I fall down. Im only human, I crash and I break down.”

Where are you at in your spiritual walk? Right now, like how are you doing?

I’ve heard from several people recently that they are stressed, burnt out or on the edge of falling away from God. I do not listen to secular music because for me it takes me back to who I used to be and I can’t go back to that person. I recently heard this song “only human” (posted below) and it hit me heavy.

Ministry work, non profits and giving your life to help those in need is not for the faint of heart. It’s exhausting both physically and mentally. More so mentally. I often have the same conversations each week from people in need. Each situation is a little different but the outcomes are all so similar. I trust 100% in Jesus and his return at the same time here on earth my flesh still bleeds and I still crash and breakdown and so will you.

Only Human
AMH

When we go alone, bad things happen. Isolation is where the thoughts get dark and actions become done in secret. Jesus makes it clear in Matthew that at some point during judgement our secret deeds and secret thoughts will be exposed to everyone. You don’t have to have a surrendered faith in Jesus to know that the things done in secret fill you with shame and guilt. Yet we find comfort in and often default to isolation. Maybe we don’t want to be shamed or convicted by those around us for the things we struggle with. How can we fix it tho??

We need to make community a priority in our lives!!

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” - James 5:16

Find people who will love you enough to be honest with you, without condemning you, who you can share your dark thoughts with. Scripture is clear that we need each other and the world needs us believers to be UNITED so we can live out our purpose. Stop highlighting our wins but instead let's share our sins in the right community. Encourage one another. Not judgement.

What’s the meaning of life?
Love God and to glorify his name!

Three ways to live our the meaning of life.

  1. Spend time in your Holy Bible. Find a solid, trustworthy translation.

  2. Spend time in Prayer, talk to God. Repent of your secret thoughts and or actions. Thank him and praise him in prayer and through song.

  3. Love others WELL. The world talks a lot about love, how much more should we love others when we have the Holy Spirit in us. In the book of James we are often reminded that our faith produces good works.

I’ve been challenging christians in my blogs lately..

We are only human and I get having dark thoughts, but how do we respond to those thoughts?

If people only know you as the person fighting against the data center.
If people only know you as the guy who can drink the most at the bar on Friday night.
If the inmates, the poor, the homeless, the widows and orphans don’t know you.
…somethings off….

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” - 1 John 3:17

We must repent. Daily. Hourly. Moment by moment. It’s time to WRING OUT THE SIN from our lives and start loving our neighbors in a way that is supernatural. We have God living inside of us. Bro!! We can do it with Jesus.

Yes, we live in grace—our sin is forgiven and no longer counted against us in Christ. But are you living in your sin and your slips? I hope not. We are not sinless but we should sin less.

I was just talking with my wife about what it must have been like to see angels that we read about in scripture. Even John in the book of revelation sees Jesus and falls at his feet. Why? I believe it’s because all our shame and sin and imperfections in a single moment come to the surface. When we see perfection in front of us we only see how far we are from perfection, how small we are, how we are only human. We are not worthy. We deserve death and separation from God because of our sin.

Yet when we repent of our sins, when we turn to Jesus in faith and surrender our lives to Him, we are shown mercy!!! Mercy is when we are spared from a penalty when we deserve that penalty. Praise God that we have an opportunity to be covered by his grace and mercy.

Jesus is coming back soon. Scriptures accounts of end times are here!

Are you going to be happy with your stockpiles of money that you saved up for retirement? or could you have used that to help your neighbor. Love well today!!I promise you won’t regret it!

I say this all in love and with a heart knowing that I mess up. This is a reminder to me and to you that we can not do it alone. I can’t live right without Jesus, not just when it’s bad, when it’s good and everything in between.

BDMC Updates for April

We have officially closed down the shoe program in April as we ram up for our back to school shoe giveaway.

We are tentatively planning on the second annual Back-To-School Shoe Giveaway to be the 2nd saturday of August. Host at Shoe Sensation in Beaver Dam. More info to come. If you want to be on our shoe committee email info@missionbd.org. We are planning on our first meeting in the next couple of weeks.

We were able to help 10 people in crisis this month of April. Several hotel vouchers that were followed up with conversation and or lunch. Several rides including one ride to a bus station for a croncically homless man who was going back to family. The report is that he is staying with friends and is in a much better spot being back home.

After continued growth in the number of clients we at the Beaver Dam Mission Center serve, I am prayerfully considering starting a mentorship program. This would allow BDMC volunteers to be assigned a crisis client that they can pour into. Meet for lunch, invite to their home for meals, give them rides and or help them as needed as they walk through life. This would not be a case manager, but a big brother/big sister style mentorship.

Stories from the field

An individual we have helped on and off had their final apartment walk through and should be getting approved any day now. This person has a heart for God and it’s been great getting to know them. They have had a lot of tragedy in the past year and as you can imagine trying to find an apartment after suffering the loss of a breadwinning partner would be hard and being homeless. Keep this person in your prayers.

We continue to serve at our local food pantries. We continue to help those in crisis who call and message us. We continue to partner with non-profits here in Beaver Dam to find help for those searching. We long to see Gods love overwhelm the city of Beaver Dam, for Christians of all denominations to come together under the name of Jesus and have a radical love for our neighbors.

YOU CAN DO THIS TOO

We are all called to serve his kingdom. When we repent and surrender to Jesus we ALL have the same charge. To go out and glorify God, using spiritual gifts to serve others around us and bring Jesus to the top. I am not, my wife is not, the people on our board are NOT professional non-profit people. We are dedicated servants to Jesus. You can do this too. Maybe you won’t start a ministry to go out and build a community of people to serve with but nothing we do is exclusive to us. We want to join with you as brothers and sisters of christ! You got this!

Prayer requests

Pray that we at the BDMC continue to lean into Jesus. That He provides just what we need at the right time we need it. That instead of the BDMC being this fundraising machine that we can just be a people who are loving their neighbors radically!

Pray for believers in Beaver Dam, that God would give them strength and courage to be a light in our community.

Pray for ALL the pastors in Beaver Dam, that they preach and love in TRUTH.

Pray for all elders and servants in our churches. Allow God to give them strength as they do kingdom work.

Pray for all the unrecognized servents in all the ministries that support our neighbors in Beaver Dam.

Pray for Special Touch Ministries and the people they serve with disabilities. That Jesus would flow through the workers and their clients would see Jesus in all that is done.

Pray for the hotels in Beaver Dam that take vouchers (Super 8 and Grandview). Pray that the staff there would continue to love the people who have no where to go. That the staff would be strengthened and serve in love.

Pray for the youth and kids in our community who are suffering through homeless. There are far too many families without homes and kids without bed. Allow God to work in their hearts to not be hardened but strong in His will.

I wanna get involved! Tell me how
