The Need

For many families in Beaver Dam and Dodge County, keeping up with everyday expenses is already a struggle. Between housing, groceries, utilities, and transportation, there's often little left for school supplies, clothing, and new shoes.

We see this need firsthand. During our 2026 shoe event registration, families signed up at an overwhelming pace, with 75 families joining our waiting list within just 48 hours. The response was a powerful reminder of how many families are simply trying to make ends meet.

Through partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations, we intentionally reach families experiencing financial hardship, prioritizing those facing the greatest needs.

For these families, a new pair of shoes means one less financial burden—and an opportunity for us to share the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

The Experience

More Than a Pair of Shoes

Our annual shoe event is about more than meeting a physical need. It's an opportunity to welcome families, build relationships, share the hope of Jesus Christ, and remind our neighbors that they are seen and loved.

STEP 1 - A Warm Welcome

Families are greeted by BDMC volunteers, receive their shoe vouchers, and connect with people who genuinely care about them.

STEP 2 - Sharing the Hope of Jesus

Children can choose a Bible, and families have opportunities for conversation, encouragement, prayer, and Gospel-centered connections.

STEP 3 - A Day of Blessings

Free haircuts, raffles, refreshments, and community partners create a welcoming day full of practical support.

STEP 4 - New Shoes, Chosen by Kids

Families visit our local Shoe Sensation, where children choose their own brand-new shoes, with up to $50 from BDMC.

A new pair of shoes meets a practical need. The love of Jesus can change a life forever.

Will You Help Us Love Like Jesus?

We serve because Jesus first loved us. What a joy it is to bless children and families right here in Beaver Dam!

A new pair of shoes may wear out, but the hope of Jesus Christ is eternal. Through something as simple as meeting a child's practical needs, God opens doors for relationships, conversations, and opportunities to share the good news of salvation through faith in Jesus.

Our prayer is that you'll partner with us—not simply to provide new shoes, but to help make Christ known throughout our community.

Together, let's love with action and share the hope of Jesus.

"We love because he first loved us." — 1 John 4:19
